About Katharine Mocciola, PsyD
(pronounced: Moss-ee-o-la)
I’m a licensed clinical psychologist, a mother of two, and someone who values both depth and presence in everyday life.
I love making my kids laugh, listening to live music, and finding poetic beauty in ordinary moments - a quiet cup of tea, a great book, or the grounding presence of the animals who share our home.
That same sense of steadiness carries into my work as a therapist.
For more than 20 years, I have worked with clients experiencing insomnia, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, burnout, and life transitions. My approach combines evidence-based treatments with a warm, collaborative therapeutic relationship.
My Values
I’m deeply committed to helping people recognize their strengths, their capacity to endure profound pain, and their ability to find their way through great challenge.
Again and again, I’ve seen that people are far more resilient - and more capable of growth - than they often believe.
Treatment Approach
My approach integrates evidence-based treatments with a thoughtful, relational presence.
While I draw from several therapeutic modalities, the foundation of therapy is a collaborative relationship - one where you can feel supported enough to slow down, reflect, and begin to shift long-standing patterns.
What to Expect in Therapy
In the early phases of therapy, we focus on understanding what brings you in, what matters most to you, and what you would like to be different in your life. Together, we clarify your goals and identify a path forward.
This may include:
Restoring sleep and improving your relationship with rest
Developing insight into emotional and physiological responses
Learning skills to regulate stress and reduce reactivity
Processing past experiences that continue to have an impact
Building greater steadiness, clarity, and self-understanding
Some clients seek short-term support or consultation around a specific concern, while others engage in deeper longer-term work. We move at a pace that feels supportive, collaborative, and aligned with your goals.
